Rodrigo Ghiringhelli de Azevedo is a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil, working in the Graduate Programs in Criminal Sciences and Social Sciences. He has experience in the areas of Law and Sociology, with an emphasis on Legal Sociology and Criminology, having carried out research on the following topics: sociological theory, informalization of justice, penal reforms and administration of criminal justice, alternative penalties, conceptions of criminal policy by criminal justice operators. law, public security policies, care for women victims of violence. He is leader of the Research Group on Public Security Policies and Criminal Justice Administration (GPESC), associate researcher and member of the Steering Committee of the National Institute for Comparative Studies in Institutional Conflict Management (INCT-INEAC). He is coordinator of the Research Committee on Violence and Society of the Brazilian Society of Sociology and senior associate of the Brazilian Public Security Forum.
